{Review} Mom n Jo Baby and Mommy Spa

We were recently invited to a day of pampering at Mom n Jo Baby and Mommy Spa in Dharmawangsa. Mom n Jo is the pioneer mom and baby spa in Jakarta. With services including baby massage, baby gym, prenatal massage, postnatal massage and other services, Evan and I were thrilled to go on a mom and son spa date.

This was my first time at Mom n Jo and it was easy to see why it is so popular in the mom and babe scene in Jakarta. Not only is their venue gorgeous , but the service is very professional and the atmosphere very inviting and serene. I thought to myself that I should take time to myself more often. Life as we know it is  hectic, full of errands to run, dishes to wash and noses to clean. Sometimes, moms just need a break and teaching kids to slow down and chill is very valuable.

As we were greeted by the wonderful staff at Mom n Jo we were given a tour of the premises. I caught a glance at an expectant mom and my heart melted. Memories of my two pregnancies came to my mind and my once belly-kicking baby was now walking right by me checking out the place letting me know that he “wikes” it.

The baby spa area is incredibly cute. They have different color rooms with a tub, a baby pool and a changing table. These rooms are used for the baby swimming treatment where they put the little ones in a lifesaver and let them experience the water. They also have lots of toys and soothing ambient music. I have read about this treatment but never tried it myself.

As we entered our spa treatment room I noticed the nice warm colors and askew whether this room was available for couples massages as well. It turns out you can come to Mom n Jo with your whole family and get pampered together.

Our treatment consisted of a joint chocolate pampering. Evan was treated to a chocolate mask and bath and later a cocoa butter massage. I got a coca butter body wrap and then an oil massage. We enjoyed both of the treatments thoroughly. Not only was the smell of the products fantastic but our massage therapists were excellent.

At first Evan was not sure he liked the full body mask but once the tub was filled with water he had a great time scrubbing the mask off.

Evan enjoyed his treatment and was done before I was. His masseuse took him outside and played with him until I was done with my oil massage. Evan was free to come in an out as he pleased and I was so glad to be able to finish my treatment without having to stop half way.

My oil massage was just fantastic. I hadn’t gotten a massage in a while so I really enjoyed it. As I told my masseuse about some problem areas, she focused on them and I was a happy camper after my delightful massage. In the meantime, Evan played with the different toys available and explored the House of Mom n Jo.

As we were leaving we noticed that they have their own line of essential oils and lotions. I caught a whiff of some of them and they were delectable plus most of them are designed to help treat common ailments. I was also told that they have special products for expectant moms and for postnatal treatments. For a moment there I wish i was pregnant to experience their pregnancy massage. I remember desperately needing a massage when I was pregnant and not being able to find a spa that would be willing to treat expecting moms.

We had a wonderful morning at Mom n Jo. If you need to take a break and have a nice day to yourself, don’t hesitate to pay Mom n Jo a visit. You will glad you did whether you go there with your family or sans kids. As I prepare to leave Jakarta in just a few short months I wish I had known about this place when we first arrived and I was pregnant with Josh.

This fabulous spa makes house calls and is able to visit you in the comfort of your home and even at the hospital after you’ve given birth.
